Blinking cursor.

I've been staring at a blinking cursor for 5 minutes.

I've got nothing, today.

Unless, you want me to get all philosophical.  Which I'm tempted to do.

I'm reading 'East of Eden' by John Steinbeck.

That will make anyone a bit philosophical.  About life in general.  You know, just stuff.

Not in a bad way.  A good way.  Makes you find the bad stuff in you, and want to purge it out.

Good, right?

Also, I took that photo up there.  Nothing exciting.

I like it.

It's like two leaves that belong together in a sea of sameness.

That has nothing to do with 'East of Eden'.

I don't think, anyway.

I'm only half way through.

Bottom line: I just like it.

I like a lot of things.

I think people should think about the things {non-material} that they like, often.

It will make you instantly happy.

Like:

your spouse

your kids

hugs

the smell of coffee

crisp fall air

words

music

belly laughs

prayer

rain

grace

I could go on and on.

Suddenly, I'm smiling on the inside.

Works every time.

See?

Now you....go.

  1. I am stopping by from Joy's Hope.
If she says you are the bee's knees, then you must be.

(I am also in the midst of moving with small children and goodness, the only thing keeping us going is knowing I will have space to send my boys upstairs to play where I can not hear them!)

  2. came over from joy's hope. you are delightful!

i agree about the happy thing.
i think about the scripture "i will enter his gates with thanksgiving, i will enter his courts with praise."
as a sahm, homeschooling mommy i NEED to be in his presence. He keeps me sane (happy keeps me sane).

  3. I too am here from Joy's Hope as well! She really went overboard singing your praises and I had to come see if all she said was really true...from what I've seen so far, I have to say, "yep, she pretty much nailed it." Will be back!

  4. Hi Beth! I found you through Joy's Hope, too! I'm reading East of Eden myself. For LITERALLY (at least) the 15th time. It is by far my favorite book ever. I have read it about once a year since my senior yerar of high school. SO good...and I learn something new every time. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. I'll be coming back to your blog often...it / you / your family is darn cute!
